Frequently asked questions

This FAQ is designed to help Cooper Norcross Health team members learn more about Cooper Norcross Health's partnership with Rain. If you have additional questions after reviewing this FAQ, please contact Rain directly by phone, (424-369-7246), or email, care@rain.us.

Who is "Rain" and what service do they provide?

Rain is a financial health benefit offered by Cooper Norcross Health. Through the Rain app, team members can access their earned wages before their regularly scheduled payday.

When will Rain be available to Cooper Norcross Health team members?

[Launch date TBD]

How does Rain work?

Through the Rain app, team members make a request to receive a portion of their earned wages before their scheduled payday. The amount advanced is then deducted from the team member's next paycheck. The pay advance is not deemed a loan and no interest is assessed.

Is Rain a loan?

Rain is not a loan, and there are no fees other than the small advancement fee of $3.49 for instant transfers. There is no interest. The money advanced from Rain is money the team member has already earned at work. Anything advanced is deducted from the team member's next paycheck.

Where do earned wages come from?

Cooper Norcross Health signed up for Rain so that team members can access earned wages from the Rain app. Earned wage information comes directly from Cooper Norcross Health. Team members will see earned wages in the Rain app within 24 hours of a completed shift.

Why has Cooper Norcross Health partnered with Rain?

Rain is part of Cooper Norcross Health's broader financial well-being program. When the immediate need for funds occurs between paychecks, Rain gives team members an alternative to high-interest payday loans and overdraft fees.

How does Rain transfer pay advance funds to team members, and what is the cost?

• ACH transfer to any bank account (1–3 business days): FREE

• Instant transfer to an external debit card: $3.49 fee per transfer

- Fee is adjusted from the next paycheck, not the transfer

Who is eligible to participate in Rain?

Rain is available to all active Cooper Norcross Health team members aged 18 and older. Team members on a leave of absence are not eligible until they return to active status.

Is the amount eligible for a pay advance ("eligible pay") calculated the same way for hourly and salaried team members?

Hourly team members: For pay advance purposes, eligible pay is always calculated based on the team member's hourly wage rate.

Salaried team members: Eligible pay is calculated to an hourly rate using a formula based on the team member's annual salary.*

The team member's annual salary is converted to a bi-weekly salary (annual salary divided by 26 paychecks annually), then to a daily salary (bi-weekly salary divided by 14 days in the pay period), then to an hourly salary (daily salary divided by 24 hours in a day). For pay advance purposes, a salaried team member then accrues eligible pay every 4 hours throughout the pay period. For example, a team member with a $50,000 salary will accrue $5.72 every hour, 24/7.

How soon after an (hourly) team member's shift will Rain be notified of the team member's punches?

Rain receives team member punch data multiple times per day, and the Rain app will reflect a balance of pay that can be advanced. Wages will be reflected in the Rain app within 24 hours of the team member's shift ending.

How will the Rain advance appear on a team member's pay stub?
The total amount transferred during each pay period will be shown as a separate line-item deduction with the code RAIN.
How do I get started with Rain?

Download the free "Rain Instant Pay" app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Create an account using the email address and phone number that matches your payroll profile with Cooper Norcross Health.

How do I update my contact information with Cooper Norcross Health to power my Rain app?

You may need to log in to Cooper Norcross Health's team member system to update your contact information if Rain is unable to validate you are a current team member.

Are Cooper Norcross Health team members required to participate in Rain?
No. Rain is a voluntary, optional benefit. If you do not wish to participate, no action is needed.
How does a team member cancel their enrollment in Rain if they decide to no longer participate?
Rain complies with all consumer protection guidelines, including the requirement to delete customer information at the user's request. There are two ways to end your enrollment in Rain: 1) Remove the link to your debit card and/or banking information and delete the app from your phone. 2) Contact Rain directly and request deletion of your account and personal information.
