Rain is a financial wellness benefit offered by your employer. Through the Rain app, employees can access their earned wages before their regularly scheduled payday.
Through the Rain App, employees sign up for the Rain debit card. They can then advance up to 50% of their earned wages before their scheduled payday, directly to that debit card at no cost. The amount of advanced pay is then deducted from the employee’s next paycheck. The pay advance is not deemed a loan and no interest is assessed. The Rain debit card can be used in-store or added to your digital wallet.
Rain is not a loan, and there are no fees or interest. The money advanced from Rain is the money that an employee has earned at work. Anything advanced will be deducted from the employee’s next paycheck.
Your employer signed up for Rain so that employees can access wages from the Rain app. Earned wage information comes directly from your workplace. Employees will see earned wages in the Rain app within 24 hours of a completed shift.
When the immediate need for funds occurs between paychecks, Rain can provide employees with alternatives to high interest rate payday loans and high overdraft fees.
Pricing applicable to New York and Connecticut residents only.
Hourly employees: For pay advance purposes, eligible pay is always calculated based on the employee’s hourly wage rate
Salaried employees: Eligible pay is calculated to an hourly rate using a formula that is based on the employee’s annual salary.*
*The employee’s annual salary is converted to a bi-weekly salary, (annual salary divided by 26 paychecks annually), then to a daily salary (bi- weekly salary divided by 14 days in the pay period), then to an hourly salary (daily salary divided by 24 hours in a day). For pay advance purposes, a salaried employee then accrues eligible pay every 4 hours throughout the pay period. For example, an employee with a $50,000 salary will accrue $5.72 every hour, 24/7.
Rain receives employee’s punch data multiple times per day, and the Rain app will reflect a balance of pay that can be advanced. Therefore, wages will be reflected in the Rain app within 24 hours of the employee’s shift ending.
Download the free "Rain Instant Pay" App from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Create an account and select your employer. Use the email address and phone number that matches your payroll profile.
