Rain is a financial wellness benefit offered by Golden Corral. Employees can access their earned wages before their regularly scheduled payday through the Rain app.
Rain is available to all active hourly Golden Corral employees.
Rain will be available to employees beginning Friday, May 17th, 2024.
Through the Rain App, employees request to receive up to 50% of their earned wages before their scheduled payday. The amount of advanced pay is then deducted from the employee’s next paycheck. The pay advance is not deemed a loan and no interest is assessed.
Download the free "Rain Instant Pay" App from the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Create an account and select "Sun Holdings" as your employer. Use the email address and phone number that matches your payroll profile in UKG.
Rain is not a loan, and there are no fees other than the small advancement fee of $3.99 for instant transfers. There is no interest. The balance generated in the Rain app is derived from earned wages in a given pay period. Anything advanced will be deducted from the employee’s next paycheck.
Golden Corral signed up for Rain so employees can access wages from the Rain app. Earned wage information comes directly from Golden Corral. Employees will see earned wages in the Rain app within 24 hours of a completed shift.
When the immediate need for funds occurs between paychecks, Rain can provide employees with alternatives to high-interest-rate payday loans and high overdraft fees.
For pay advance purposes, eligible pay is always calculated based on the employee’s hourly wage rate multiplied by the hours they have worked in a given pay cycle and divided in half (or multiplied by 50%). They will only have access to 50% of a maximum of 8 hours of working wages.
(Hourly Rate x Hours Worked / 2) = Cash Balance in App
Rain receives employees’ punch data multiple times per day, and the Rain app will reflect a balance of pay that can be advanced. Therefore, wages will be reflected in the Rain app within 24 hours of the employee’s shift ending.
In this scenario, the employee’s net pay with Golden Corral would be zero for that pay date and the employee will be placed into an "arrears" status with Rain. Rain would then flag the employee’s account as “paused.” Golden Corral only allows an advancement of 50% of earned wages to protect the employee from having a $0 paycheck.
The total amount transferred during each pay period will be shown as a separate line-item deduction with the code RAIN.
You may need to log in to the Golden Corral UKG Pro site to update your contact information if Rain can’t validate that you are a current employee.
